Doing something like this is a pretty easy way to give your ego a little boost—-I mean, an entire decade, I’d hope there’d be some noticeable difference there, right? I guess I could pick a scribble from when I was 5 and “draw it again” for ultimate improvement, but this actually makes me smile, because hey, not only did I learn a few things, but it shows how long these two characters have stuck with me. (June’s had a total redesign, Laszlo’s had minor changes in spelling/scar/hair/tattoo)
It wasn't really a conscious decision when I was putting the two images together, but now I can't help but see 2003's pair as looking on unhappily at 2013 and feeling inadequate. Modern-day Laszlo is reassuring June that those days are behind them, but June is probably about to turn around and blast them for good measure.
