blood through the heart by hello-magpie blood through the heart by hello-magpie
Semester's almost over, so here's a little more from my grad studio course. I'm fairly pleased with this, even though it was kind of a quickie...

Wooden box, metal plaque, Gray's Anatomy clippings, antique lace trim, antique lace snippet (with bloodstain), red string, antique nails, brown acrylic (faux-foxing on the paper).

This is sort of a tarot card? (Three of Swords)

Love this--reminds me of one of your undergrad pieces, which also featured nails. What's foxing?

Heh, you're right, and that one was also based on the Three of Swords card. I tend to repeat myself. :)

Foxing is the technical term for those brownish red spots that start to show up on very old paper. It's a nuisance to conservators but I love it.
